Jiří Atman, a celebrity from Brno city, celebrated together with his friend Martin their birthdays. He was 26 y.o. The Birthday party in club “U Richarda Brno” was full of fun snacKs, and lot of alcohol . This club has a lot of history, starting in 1983.

On Thursday 6th October 2011 the official opening party of On-Club took place. Foreign investors took over the predecessor club, Valentino, earlier this year in a dismal state.  From then began the gradual renovation and name change took place. In September, the main dance floor with new sound system and lights opened, along with a new VIP zone. Many of the club facilities were replaced, including the toilets which are moved and enlarged.

Now the On-Club finds customers coming back. Many of them stopped coming to the club for reasons not entirely clear. Some of the previous visitors were used to drinks a different price level. With the new pricing policy, there is the opportunity for those who have 45 CZK for a quarter of a liter of extra chilled Heineken on tap in the bottom floor, or 72 CZK for a small glass of housewine (Pinot Grigio). However, on the the upper floors Krusovice is available for 33 CZK 0.4L, and brand vodka for 50 CZK, whiskey and Bourbon for 60 CZK, so you can choose a student:)

OMG, the stylish party has another successful night, this time as OMG Pride edition, when the event was ranked among the largest Prague Pride 2011th events. This party presented the young, talented Raffael de La Rue, who regularly appears on line-ups of the most prestigious Czech clubs. Of course, not to be missed the resident duo of OMGeez! A total of 800 people came to the party.

One of the biggest partys at Prague Pride 2011 event took place on a boat called “Tyrš” and attracted nearly 300 attendees, the event was organized by a dating portal ‘Iboys’ and Team Decadance. ON Dj´s team was ‘Souky, P@co and OMGeez. Look at the photo report:

The Prague Pride organisers expect up to seven thousand participants to attend Saturday’s “pride parade” of homosexuals in Prague, the grand finale of the five-day festival ‘Prague Pride’. “The show will offer 78 events,” said the head of the civic association Prague Pride Czeslaw Walek.

The parade will take place in Prague for the first time. Prague Pride parade will start at 12 clock at “Náměstí Republiky”, and then move towards “Střelecký Ostrov” (island).

At Vinohradská 40, where for so many years existed the successful club Gejzeer, followed by club Valentino, the doors on this well known venue finally closed. Valentino has not always matched the standards to which we are accustomed to in Western Europe, especially the toilets, promotion, sound, & people. This was probably the main problems which finally closed the club. In the spring, the new owners took over the club and everything started to improve, especially new people. Now comes the main, reconstruction and new name for the venue.

On Saturday was the final “Closing Party” was great!  All the good DJ’s who ever played in Valentino came to play, and here we found a lot of people from the past on this night. It was crowded like the good old times and ended early in the morning.

As soon as 10 days a new club named ‘ON’ will open, then in September all 3 floors will open.

Prague celebrity Willem, originally from Holland celebrated another birthday. A gala dinner evening took place as usual at the Botel Admiral in the centre of Prague, where a number of friends came to wish happy birthdday to him. Then everyone moved to the club Valentino, joined by more friends, where many bottles Prosseco´s and a short strip show celebrated until the morning

From early August, Prague’s biggest gay club will be known under a new name and with a brand new concept. The legendary venue in Vinohrady will from that moment onwards be known as ON Club. Starting with the Opening Weekend of the Café and Disco floors in early August, ON provides Prague nightlife with a new vision in quality entertainment.

“The name we found is versatile in many ways”, says Daniel Goris of the new management team. “ON is not only useable and meaningful in two languages but has a very positive, energetic drive to it. We feel it represents the concept of the club perfectly.”

A first look at the new club will be possible upon opening of the upper two floors in early August: the Café and the Disco. A newly created area will be revealed at the same time.

After renovation, the Café relives as a modern, lavish place to sit and relax, open 7 days a week, 19 hours a day from 10am. Besides comfortable seating, service with a smile and a soothing loungy music mix, the Café will have food on offer around the clock as well. “We’re introducing a small, affordable but top quality menu, and will serve people daily from 10am until close”, explains Goris. “This adds an experience that currently is not on offer in Vinohrady and we feel there is definitely a need for it.”

On Fridays and Saturdays a DJ will spice up the night by playing live lounge, deephouse and progressive music  provided by the sound collective Wave of Sense, mostly known from its  front man DJ Pat Heart.

The Disco is currently being transformed into a vibrant, colourful dance area, ready for a varying daily  program of happy pop and disco music. “With sound proofing, a brand new sound system, a complete new bar and brand new girls and boys bathrooms, the Disco provides a top quality entertainment experience to our guests”, adds Goris.

With the complete makeover of the whole club also comes the creation of 3 new areas.

The first to be revealed to the audience is the Chillout, a relaxing space adjacent to the Disco, packed in red velvet and furnished with an antique look and feel. The Chillout is the perfect place to meet friends, have a beer, catch up and make plans for the rest of the night.

The brand new website of ON can be found at www.onclub.cz. While the complete website will be launched during the opening event, it already is possible to check the upcoming program and register as a member. Amongst new members, a number of VIP Tickets for various opening events will be raffled.

“More details on opening events will be revealed shortly”, adds Goris. “In the meantime, we always remain open: our Club floor currently serves guests 7 days a week and will continue  to do so until the closing party Goodbye Valentino on July 30th.”

Prague Pride starts on Wednesday 10th August 2011 and will continue with various events and attractions until Sunday 14th August 2011. Although it took a surprisingly long time, finally Prague, a traditionally gay-friendly metropolis offering Czechs and tourists Western European-style entertainment holds its first Pride festival.

Prague Pride 2011 is similar to the pride festivals held in Western countries, which take place in various forms in most European cities. This first Prague festival has the subtext that its program is fully open to the public. With the support of the City of Prague the festival will offer five days full of culture and entertainment.

The program includes over 60 individual events, which will take place from 10th to 14th August at more than 30 locations throughout Prague. Prague Pride offers a program which is not only for gays and lesbians, but also their families, friends and the general public, as is common in other large cities.

Everything will culminate on Saturday with a carnival style parade in the center of Prague. Later a music festival on an island, where performances will include Jimmy Sommerville (UK), Kazak (UI), Charlie Straight, Tonya Graves, Leona Machálková and more. Admission to these concerts is free.

After 15 years of gay clubbing in Radiopalac on Vinohradska, Prague 2, Czech Republic, the club currently known as Valentino will close down this summer floor by floor for major renovations following its acquisition by a team of European entrepreneurs.

This location, well-known to the gay community used to be home in 1996, of the famous Gejzeer bankropt on 2006, witch is Valentino was already open from 2005, than 2006 two clubs split togehter inthe much larger Club Valentino. “The space really deserved an upgrade after all those years”, says Daniel Goris of the new management team. “We are looking forward to bringing to Prague nightlife what it deserves: a modern European level gay night club.”

The venue will offer the world’s best sound system “Funktion One” and state-of-the-art LED lighting. Several areas will be added to properly serve Prague’s wide ranged gay and modern thinking audience.

The reconstruction will be overseen by Prague-based architect company Free Design, among others known for Café-Café.

Renovations have already started behind the screens, with preparations of new bathrooms and air-conditioning improvements. The part of the work visible to the public will take place in phases, starting with the middle ‘disco’ floor, which closes on July 4^th.

This is followed by the café two weeks later on July 18^th. Reopening events for both floors will take place in the weekend of August 5-7^th .

While work on these floors is ongoing, the downstairs Club floor (known as Gejzeer) will be opened 7 days a week from 9 pm, serving pop and disco music during the week, and electro / house entertainment in weekends. The recently started Czechoslovak Music Night on Thursdays will temporarily be moved to this floor as well.

The Club floor will close early August. Reopening is planned for the weekend of September 15^th.

“It is a big challenge to get everything done in such a short time”, says Daniel Goris. “But with the team we have we are confident we can make it on time. In a few weeks we will present our new name and logo, and we’ll reveal some more of the plans we have after reopening. We can’t wait sharing more with you!”

On Friday 17th June 2011 in Prague there was a big party called OMG, with the theme “3some Edition”.

DJ´s Carlos Gallardo and Michael Burian played sets. OMG party did not disappoint, it was packed all night to the early morning.

On Saturday 19th March the regular customers at Saints Bar celebrated this most venerable expat drinking institutions 6th. birthday party. Much fun was had by all while awards were presented by the glamorous hostess Svetlana for the “Most Charming Customer”, “The Biggest Slut” and “Mr Saints 2011″. The celebrations continued late into the night with the party crowd starting Saints 7th successful year with a bang! Look for a brief photo report.

On 6th March 2011 three friends opened a new gay café bar in the heart of old Prague, situated between the National Theatre and the Charles Square.

Q Cafe as the new place is named can be found easily on the street Opatovicka No.12 (Look out for the rainbow flag that is flown in front of the cafe). Q Café has two floors, the top is dominated by a bar and comfortable seating area, below you will find a chill out area. The area has many elements of modern design and friendly staff to serve you.
